Things that make me happy today.

I woke up in a particularly good mood this morning and was just thinking of a few simple things that make me happy. I’m not much of a poetry connoisseur and I usually detest when people send me trite sayings and quotes at the end of their emails but a “special” friend sent me this poem today–not knowing that it is one of the few poems that I know almost by heart.

I love that last line. It’s so beautiful. And apparently “travelled” can be spelled with either one or two “L”s so I learned something new today as well. (my spelling BLOWS!!)

I  am happy that Obama is way ahead in the polls and the Republican campaign seems to be eating its own.

I am happy that my Condom Couture wedding dress (pic above) will be displayed in a window on Halloween in the Castro district of San Francisco with a Vote NO on Prop 8 sign. If Prop 8 (the proposition that would ban same sex marriage) passes I think the gays should protest by dropping out of the wedding industry. Not to stereotype or generalize too much but there would definitely be a shortage on florists, dress designers, cake decorators, musicians and wedding planners. The wedding industry would implode. HA! How ironic that so many gay people work in an industry that excludes them.

I am happy for Hot Pockets and Eggnog flavored Coffee-Mate which they only make during the winter holidays. Eggnog seems to be a very polarizing beverage. People either love it or hate it. My sister can’t tolerate the texture. It is kinda goopy but I love it. I wish it wasn’t 9000 calories per glass.

I’m excited that I will be attending GMHC’s Fashion Forward event on November 10th, hosted by Tim Gunn.

I am happy to be friends with Kevin Christiana.

I’m also very happy that my cleaning guy just arrived because I have been working on a butt load of projects and my studio looks like a pipe bomb went off in it.

It’s the little things. Like the hands of rain.

My crazy schedule update!!!

Hey kids! Sorry I’ve been neglecting my website lately. I really just don’t have enough hours in the day to work on it that much right now. I’m hoping to get some help in the near future. Hopefully you can look forward to a line of t-shirts that will be sold on-line. That’s a few months off.

So last night I went on the Derek and Romaine show on Sirius radio to dish with 2 of my fave peeps. Good times. They are a hoot and they have been great to me. I chatted about some exciting news! I’m making a gown for Heather Tom from the Bold and the Beautiful for the Daytime Emmy’s. She is nominated for the 12th time after winning twice so it’s quite an honor to work with her. The gown will be auctioned off for charity after the event. I met her last week and she is flawless and so sweet with a bod to die for. The show will air on June 20th. Color me psyched.

I also just finished designing a t-shirt for a company called Clothing of the American Mind. Its a socially and politically conscious company with all organic tees made in the US. My design will benefit HIV charities and will be available in the upcoming months. Be on the lookout!

This Wednesday May 14th I will be at the POZ event Love out Loud. I’m excited to support this great event and really looking forward to meeting some of the other great people attending. I’ll be there with my good friend Kevin Christiana from Project Runway. It’s going to be quite an event so please check it out and hopefully I will see you there.

Monday I am filming LOGO’s NewNowNext awards, hosted by my muse Candis Cayne. It should be a gay/tranny extravaganza. Hopefully I get to see my little buddy Christian Siriano who has basically been M.I.A. since his big win. I’m so happy for him but I miss my pocket gay!!! He’s nominated for Most Addictive Reality Star and I am presenting an award. The show airs on LOGO on the 9th of June I believe.

I type like a tree sloth so that’s it for now. More next week. ROCK IT OUT TRANNIES!
